MagREEsource Expands Production to Meet Growing Demand for Recycled Rare Earth Magnets

MagREEsource

France-based MagREEsource, a leading producer of recycled-content magnets, has announced a significant expansion of its factory capacity in 2025 to support increasing demand for rare earth magnets. The company, headquartered in Noyarey, France, is also planning to ramp up hiring as part of its growth strategy.

Expansion to Boost Rare Earth Magnet Supply

MagREEsource specializes in short loop recycling of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, providing a sustainable metallurgical solution for securing and diversifying Europe's supply of rare earth permanent magnets. The company has positioned itself as a key player in the circular economy, supplying high-performance magnets to industries such as wind energy, robotics, medical technology, and aerospace.

The upcoming expansion will add an additional 400 square meters (4,300 square feet) to MagREEsource’s production space, bringing the total to 1,600 square meters (17,200 square feet). According to company president and co-founder Erick Y. Petit, this move will enhance production capabilities and finalize vertical integration upstream to metallization.

Petit emphasized that the decision to expand aligns with the company’s long-term vision of innovation and sustainability. “This expansion marks a crucial step in the company’s growth strategy, which relies on innovation and its circular model (from magnet scraps to new magnets) to offer sovereign and low-carbon solutions,” he stated.

Future Outlook and Workforce Growth

With demand for rare earth magnets surging, MagREEsource is taking proactive steps to meet industry needs. The expansion will also result in approximately 10 new jobs in 2025, reinforcing the company’s commitment to local economic development.

Additionally, the company has long-term plans to construct its first large-scale production facility, MagFactory, by 2028, further solidifying its role as a strategic supplier in the European rare earth magnet market.

As part of its sustainability efforts, MagREEsource continues to source sintered magnets of any grade and size, magnetized or not, to fuel its recycling operations.

With its latest expansion, MagREEsource is strengthening its position as a leader in the rare earth magnet industry, supporting Europe’s transition to a more secure and eco-friendly supply chain for critical materials.
