Major lithium miners reported strong corporate profits following a sharp rebound in global battery metal demand. Chinese producers Tianqi Lithium Corp. and Ganfeng Lithium Group Co. achieved their strongest net income in three years. Rapid deployment of grid-scale energy storage systems for data centers and renewables drove Chinese spot prices up 22%.
Furthermore, global lithium consumption expanded 45% through May, significantly outstripping new market supply growth.
