Spartan UK Steel Powers Innovative Stadium Construction

Metinvest Group has played a key role in one of the UK’s largest recent sports infrastructure projects — the construction of Everton Football Club’s new stadium in Liverpool. According to Metinvest SMC, the company supplied 1,000 tons of hot-rolled steel produced by Spartan UK, a subsidiary based in the United Kingdom.

The 53,000-seat arena, opened in February 2025, is located in the historic Bramley Moore Dock area and replaces Goodison Park, Everton’s long-serving stadium of over 130 years.

A Modern Stadium with Advanced Engineering

The project adopted no-blockwork construction technology, meaning no traditional brickwork was used. This required high-precision engineering and ultra-reliable materials, leading to the selection of Spartan UK steel for key load-bearing elements of the stadium.

The new Everton stadium complies with UK’s updated safety regulations, mandating seating-only arrangements and advanced safety features.

Part of a Broader Global Footprint

Metinvest continues to expand its global presence in strategic infrastructure projects. As previously reported by GMK Center, Metinvest Group also supplied 5,000 tons of steel for the Royal Netherlands Navy’s combat support ship Den Helder, using materials from Azovstal in Ukraine and Metinvest Trametal in Italy.
